Lent Day 2 - Set Priority

Peter began to say to Jesus,
'We have given up everything and followed you."
Jesus said, "Amen, I say to you,
there is no one who has given up house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands
for my sake and for the sake of the Gospel who will not receive a hundred times more now in this present age: houses and brothers and sisters
and mothers and children and lands,
with persecutions, and eternal life in the age to come. But many that are first will be last, and the last will be first.
- Mark 10:28-31

Thank you lord for helping us to realize the possessions that keeps us away from your fullness of joy.

Today help us to set priority..the priority of perfect satisfaction and thats You Lord.

Let us list down all our possessions and against it write "my lord is greater than this". As we do this let the holy spirit fill in us and give us the realization that..Our Lord is able to do far more than we can imagine . The only thing i should do is Trust in Him, put lord first in all. Seek him not for the perishable blessings but in love that He gave himself for us to be saved forever.

He who has God has everything; he who has everything but God has nothing. – St. Augustine

The scripture doesnt mean to abandon our family..but to accept all we have from lords hands in thanksgiving setting Lord as authority of all so that the world or evil cannot snatch it from us as Lord the powerful is our owner.

Trusting and living only for this world means our dreams are shortlived and unsatisfied. Trusting in god and living for Him means our dreams are reaching heaven with a reward of eternity. Let us make lord our authority and this we do by giving thanks..

Offer to God praise as your sacrifice
and fulfill your vows to the Most High.He that offers praise as a sacrifice glorifies me;and to him that goes the right way I will show the salvation of God."(Psalms 50:14,23)

Lord we give you thanks in everything. Help us to always realize you are our owner..
Amen

Lent Day 1- The Possessions

Jesus, looking at him, loved him and said to him,
"You are lacking in one thing.
Go, sell what you have, and give to the poor
and you will have treasure in heaven; then come, follow me."
At that statement, his face fell,
and he went away sad, for he had many possessions.

Jesus looked around and said to his disciples,
"How hard it is for those who have wealth
to enter the Kingdom of God!"
The disciples were amazed at his words.
So Jesus again said to them in reply,
"Children, how hard it is to enter the Kingdom of God!
It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle
than for one who is rich to enter the Kingdom of God."
They were exceedingly astonished and said among themselves,
"Then who can be saved?"
Jesus looked at them and said,
"For men it is impossible, but not for God.
All things are possible for God."- mark 10:17-27

Let us reflect on our life. List out what we say its mine or i earned..or what we say i cant stay without it or i cant share or let others to have..

What are our possessions that keep us away to come to fullness of joy in lord?  Our time?our selfishness? Love of authority?  This lenten time let us submit it to lord and repent and approach the sacrament of confession because for his grace and mercy will only free us from it. Let us experience the freedom in Lord. All to Jesus I surrender...

All to jesus i surrender..

" For men it is impossible, but not for God.All things are possible for God."
Lord have mercy. Amen
