Let our Talks Be Guided in Gods Wisdom
But
Mary treasured all these things, pondering them in her heart.
-Luke 2:19
This is something that we find hard to
do sometimes. If we are bursting in ideas, or plans ,or if we have
something to say about our achievement we find if often difficult to
control our tongue. Even if its in a group of friends or relatives or
well wishers we try to bring onto focus our points and ideas. We go
on talking. If it is a situation of tension or a situation which made
us feel bad of something, we find it difficult to control our
tongues. But God says to us to talk less.
Mother Mary ,who had a life full of
blessings, trials and hardships was always seen to treasure it in her
heart and giving thanks to God and being humble for Gods wish to be
fulfilled through Her. But if we imagine this in our life, we make a
story behind our each incident.
If something is happening the way that
we don't like, we adjust our talks so as to avoid what is going to
happen, to come into the way that we like. But we never think of the
consequences that will follow for that momentary adjustment talk. We
may knowingly sometimes reject someone that we really know, or may
betray someone that is mean to us, or may tell a lie to add a pomp to
the matter, we may hurt someone or give a false to praise someone.
Simple talks get us on to a false situation that displays an untrue
self.
A big forest fire can be started with only a little flame. The tongue is like a fire. It is a world of evil among the parts of our body. It spreads its evil through our whole body and starts a fire that influences all of life. It gets this fire from hell.” James 3:5-6
We
use our tongues to praise our Lord and Father, but then we curse
people who were created in God’s likeness. These praises and curses
come from the same mouth. My brothers and sisters, this should not
happen. James 3:9-10
Our
tongue that make us talks a lot can make us the most impure. It is
said that,
“It
is not what people put in their mouth that makes them wrong. It is
what comes out of their mouth that makes them wrong.” Mathew 15:11
Sometimes
we might even know how our talks carry us away to a false world. We
boast a lot and pretend about what we aren't in reality.
We
must take care how our tongue controls our talking. For that we must
have the wisdom of God. We must be guided by Gods wisdom all the
time. We must be able to give the control of our tongue to our Father
Almighty. We must pray to God always so that we can walk in His
guidance always.
Set
a guard over my mouth, LORD; keep watch over the door of my lips.
Psalms 141:3
We
should be the same in front of all. We should never add up or slip
off in our talks to something that we are not. Let our talks and
tongues be in Gods hands.
A
slip on the pavement is preferable
to a slip of the tongue; Sirach 20-18
Avoid
idle talk, and you will avoid a lot of trouble. Sirach 19:1
“keep
your tongue from evil and your lips from telling lies.” Psalms
34:13
Lord God help us to control our talks and let us talk only in Your wisdom and guidance. Always make us aware not to hurt someone or waste someone's time with our boastful talks. Teach us to be humble in all that we say and make us a good listener. Put Your words of life in our tongue that we may be a living word giving hope and life to others. Amen
