“And
Israel saw the great work which the LORD did against the Egyptians,
and the people feared the LORD; and they believed in the LORD and in
his servant Moses.”
-
Exodus
14:31
The
Lord guided and guarded the Israelites' all through their journey
towards the promised land.
“The
Lord
led
the way. During the day, he used a tall cloud to lead the people. And
during the night, he used a tall column of fire to lead the way. This
fire gave them light so that they could also travel at night. The
cloud was always with them during the day, and the column of fire was
always with them at night.” -Exodus 13:21-22
God
led them through a way that was longer than an alternate way that can
reach the promised land very easily. He did this to;
“God
did not let the people take the road leading to the land of the
Philistines. That road by the Mediterranean
Sea is
the shortest way, but God said, “If the people go that way they
will have to fight. Then they might change their minds and go back to
Egypt.”So God led them another way through the desert by the Red
Sea.”- Exodus 13:17-18
Hence
we can realize that if God is leading us into a way that was not
desired by our mind and thoughts, it is sure that He has a definite
plan for doing so, they are the plans for our good and not for our
harm.
The
entire journey of Israelites' from Egypt to the promised land is
filled with humanities fall out from belief upon God the Father and
His mercy shown to rescue them from all dangers. The children of God
had to face many obstacles in their way due their own selfish
intentions and desires, through the red sea, from the drought and famines, from the poisonous snakes, from the Pharaoh and his
battalion, from all wars, by giving commandments to live truly, by
giving the arc of covenant in the Holy Tent, the Lord saved them.
Even though at each trials the children of God complained and criticized Lord for their hardships, even though they built another
lords for their satisfaction, the Lord God guarded them by making
them realize the glory of Him through His great protection from
sufferings. The Father in Heaven, with His personal presence,
protected all His righteous ones all through their journey to the
promised land. He asked them to strongly believe in His power and
love, but many failed and was lost, the ones who looked towards the
face of the Lord was saved from the poison of the world and was
restored in life.
When
we look at our live today, we find the same approach. We tumble in
our journey of life, we forget our Lords care and go behind our own
mind sets. In the old testament days, Lord asked for a sacrifice for
the flaws of His children. In the new testament, Lord offered the
greatest sacrifice for our sins, by giving His only Son. Now He asks
us only to believe in Him and cleanse ourselves with His blood shed
for us. Now are the days of great mercy from God. We just have to
repent on our sins and look into the face of Jesus who defeated the
sins and the death a rose with new life for us. This life is under
the mercy of God and we are not expected any more to be enslaved by
sin and death.
“In
our baptism we shared in his death. So when we were baptized, we were
buried with Christ and took part in his death. And just as Christ was
raised from death by the wonderful power of the Father, so we can now
live a new
life.”
- Romans 6:3-4
We
know that our old life was put to death on the cross with Christ.
This happened so that our sinful selves would have no power over us.
Then we would not be slaves to sin. Anyone who has died is made free
from sin’s control. If we died with Christ, we know that we will
also live with him. Christ was raised from death. And we know that he
cannot die again. Death has no power over him now. Yes, when Christ
died, he died to defeat the power of sin one time—enough for all
time. He now has a new life, and his new life is with God. In the
same way, you should see yourselves as being dead to the power of sin
and alive for God through Christ Jesus. Romans 6:5-11
Hence
in this day of Resurrection of Our Lord, let us realize our position,
let us no longer give away ourselves to the hands of the world. Let
us live in the new life given to us by Our Father in Heaven through
Christ Jesus. The new life in our Lord, that's under the mercy of our
Lord and is no longer slave to sin and death but to mercy and eternal
life. In our falls and failures that will arise in us due to our
sin-weekened bodies, let us submit ourselves and look to the risen
face of our Lord Jesus in such times and pray continuously. His body
and blood shall cleanse us and renew us to be strong to fight against
the powers that try to trap us and snatch us away from our Father.
“Very
early Sunday morning, the women came to the tomb where Jesus’ body
was laid. They brought the sweet-smelling spices they had prepared.
They saw that the heavy stone that covered the entrance had been
rolled away. They went in, but they did not find the body of the Lord
Jesus. They did not understand this. While they were wondering about
it, two men in shining clothes stood beside them. The women were very
afraid. They bowed down with their faces to the ground. The men said
to them, “Why are you looking for a living person here? This is a
place for dead people. Jesus is not here. He has risen from death”
Matthew 24:1-6
In
this Easter, let us open the closed graves of our heart and receive
the resurrected Jesus into us and live in His new life. Let us live a
life that God has planned for us because God will guide us safely to
our destination. This we cannot do alone because the powers of the
world will make us struggle a lot, tumble down a lot and fail a lot,
that we may be snatched away from Our Father. For this we need the
protection and love from our Father through Jesus and Mother Mary and
all pure souls who has succeeded in defeating the worldly satanic
powers. With the intercession of all let us travel with new life of
Jesus in us, fulfilling all the duties assigned to us in this world
by our Lord with His help, and obeying His 'WORD' spoken to us
through Bible reminded to us by Holy Spirit, to our everlasting home
in Heaven with our Father. In our life let us always remember and
believe strongly that,
“Don’t
be afraid! Don’t run away! Stand where you are and watch the Lord
save you today..... You will not have to do anything but stay calm.
The Lord will do the fighting for you.” Exodus 14:13
“I
have told you these things so that you can have peace in me. In this
world you will have troubles. But be brave! I have defeated the
world!” -John 16:33
Lord
thank you for all your guidance's in our life. Help us through out our
life in this world. Make us realize all the time, our position in
this world so that we will always live in the new life given to us by
You through resurrection of Jesus Christ, the way, truth and life
forever. Amen
